A duchy is a rank of nobility in the Fairweather Vale. A holder of this title is referred to as a duke, dux, or duchess and addressed as "Your Grace".

Rank[edit]

A duchy is the highest ranking noble title in the Vale. The five duchies are the largest and/or oldest cities and some of the most notable. Most duchies have full castles (or in Swansing's case, a palace).

The Grand Duchy[edit]

The Grand Duchy of Stonewall technically outranks the other five. However, the title's primary role is to adjudicate disputes between other nobles and administer titles, ensuring continuity of leadership. It is a nonvoting member of any congress.
