In the morning, they're awoken by Dreli strolling down the hall singing "Good Morning to the Sun". The Lighthaus Inspektorz take about an hour to drag themselves downstairs, where Dreli with a picnic basket is waiting for them. Mino tries and fails to peek in the basket.
As they walk, Dreli hums "Mambo No. 5", a historical ballad. The party asks her questions on the way and find her answers frustratingly useless. They ask if the quiet zone around the stones is normal, and she says it is. Mino asks "what is the heart of the universe?" to which Dreli replies: "the oneness that connects us all". She comments that Mino's aura shows him in tune with the universe more than the other party members. Corrin asks a question that has been haunting him for a while: "Is the moon a plane?" but Dreli says no, it isn't. Mino asks Quill to write that down, and he does, but the minute Mino isn't looking, he erases it. Mino ties a string to his horn to remember.
The party asks about the rest of their auras. Nergil's is "ordinary", which is a lie that Nergil doesn't catch. Corrin's is bright blue, but shadowed. She deliberately insults Quill by telling him his is dull brown. Raen's is the most dramatic and interesting to her, "the saddest red, with shots of gold, and flashes of black lightning".
Everyone checks for moss when they get there, don’t see anything, dreli mvoes forward eyes closed. “cleans the taint” She insults quill with the thing Starts talking to trees, they’re sleepy but she needs to find one with a longer memory that was awake “shadow man dispersed a seed into the tainted area” “up to a year ago”, She animal friendships a squirrel When he came, the animals fled before him, it was a dark and stormy day Mino decides tos peak with animals, corrin describes the guy, squirrel mentions the walked awkwardly and “dark leaf covering” and “dark fur” Mino talks to the squirrel, who confirms; he smelled of “human hardstone” aka metal Did he smell like metal or just the area? Unable to answer. Why did the squirrel run? It was just not a place to stay. Mino: If you hear anything, let us know? Did the guy frommechanus or what? Quill shows the gar, the squirrel Ro sniffs the gear, finds it downt he trail and around the zone, ro remembers the smell from th e basement but more the laboratory thant he robot rooms Mino: could we go to mechanus? Raen: are we ready for that??? She’s setting up food, forest temples up north, is there a nature spirit nearby? Introduces tahm kench, the river king, and gives the background story “does he count as a river spirit?” During lunch, there’s a ripping sound Dreli has a headache and says there’s a thing in town, takes off, the party follows; she casts tree stride and quill realizes she’s psionic somehow. They each go through the portal: mino, corrin and ro, raen, quill, and nergil. Raen goes invisible, mino rages and charges forward, nergil fireballs, the marilith kills 2 guards easily “you are not worthy to worship her”, quill hastes mino Raen throws dagger, mino attacks, corrin places bow aside, misses attacks,; raen realizes he’s seen and strikes with hell dagger, dreli is useless; marilith teleports and summons herzou, nergil darkness; pasky appears Mino attempts to disarm, corrin summons spiders, spiders web 1 herzou, the other one trips; commoners escape; dreli uses entangle but the herzou resists, raen sneak attacks but Marilith begins to parry, quill misses shocking grasp, hezrou trips and the other one breaks the webbing, marilith attacks everyone around her and grapples mino, the knights arrive and attack the spider and also the marilith while corrin asks them not to, nergil blights a herzou Mino breaks free and hits with greataxe.
